Date Of Birth: June 12, 1940
Date Of Death: March 30, 2013

The family of JoyAnn Chaney Bevington mourns her passing. Born to Kenneth Chaney and Joyous Earhart Chaney on June 12, 1940. She entered into rest at Community North Hospital at 5:50 p.m. March 30, 2013 surrounded by loving family. Easter Sunday was special this year as she began her journey in Heaven. Her spirit and memory will remain abundant.

Her memory will be cherished by beloved daughter Laura Joy Middlekauff; only grandson Kenneth Skidmore; sister Leigh Smith, and several cousins. She leaves behind many great friends.

She is reunited in the presence of our Heavenly Father with daughter Lisa Ann Middlekauff, and mother and father Joyous and Kenneth Chaney.

JoyAnn, a native of Kokomo, IN and a long time resident of Fishers, IN, was a graduate of Kokomo High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Indiana University and then obtained her Master’s Degree from Butler University. She was a lifelong teacher, educator and administrator with the IPS school system and she truly loved her students. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. The popular JoyAnn Bakery in Kokomo, that opened in the 1950’s, was named after JoyAnn. To know her was to know a true friend and a genuinely kind and caring soul. She enjoyed reading and traveling.

She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her rescue cats Max, Ozzie and Starbucks. She treated them like kings and they brought a lot of love and joy into her life.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday April 5, 2013 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Friends are invited to call from 12-2.

JoyAnn’s wishes for memorial contributions be made to: Allisonville Animal Hospital, 10173 Allisonville Road, Suite 100, Fishers, IN 46038.
